Shelving:

The lighter shades are pretty accurate on my computer.

I used this website as an example of "camel" color:

http://www.braided.com/All%20Colors.htm

If their "camel" is what you envision as close to the proposed carpet color,
I believe that the best shelving choices would be "vanilla" or "desert
sand."

---------------
Circulation desk:
I like both of these Tesco circulation desks.  All of the woods (end
panels/tables/chairs/circ desk) can be matched to the pillars.  Of course, a
"standard" color is a little cheaper.

These are my preferences:

This can have any color laminate inserted between the horizontal trim.  I
would expect that the same laminate would be used throughout, although I am
guessing that BLACK could be used (as in the insertions at the circulation
desk, but another, lighter, color could be used for surface tops.

This is my favorite:

This style might be the most easy to re-cover with extra paneling to match
the pillars.

-------------
End panels & table tops & counter top (for circulation desk)

These will all be laminate with wooden edging.  I am not fond of laminate in
wood design. I would prefer the contrast of the wood & the laminate.
However, I am having difficulty imagining what kind/color/pattern of
laminate would retain a classical styling.  Please suggest something!  I
have a chain of WILSONART LAMINATE samples.  But, I was told that the
company can use any brand laminate.

Example of what I am talking about -- end panels from the Sacramento County

Chairs:
For strength & durability, it was recommended that we get "sled" based
chairs.  I prefer the chairs without arms & prefer the style shown below in
Rohnert Park.

This shows the typical sled based style:

If we get upholstered seats I would like to pick up a color.

For the computer chairs, I was leaning toward the un-upholstered chairs
without arms & with wheels (see Caper chair, by Herman Miller)

Tables:

We can have all rectangles or a combination of rectangle/square/& round.

This is one table possibility:

This is my favorite chair (armless) & table combination (Rohnert Park
library):

Or, a simpler style:
